What is Valkyrie Games?

Valkyrie Games is Palmerston North's friendly local game store. We stock trading card games, board games, roleplaying games, miniatures, hobby supplies, paints, accessories, and more. We also host events and gaming sessions throughout the week for players of all experience levels. We have been here since 2013, running some of the longest running leagues, open groups and events in New Zealand. We have product knowledge second to none (we are all nerds too!) and a great passion for the hobbies we sell for.

What are your opening hours?

Our regular opening hours are:

• Monday to Saturday: 10:30am – 8:00pm

• Sunday: 10:30am – 5:00pm

Do you run events?

Yes! We run events almost every day of the week.

Our events include tournaments, casual play nights, roleplaying games, learn-to-play sessions, miniature gaming, and community activities.

Can beginners attend your events?

Absolutely.

Many of our events are beginner-friendly, and our staff and community are always happy to help new players learn the ropes. If you're new to a game, just let us know and we'll help you get started.

Do I need my own deck, army, or game pieces?

For most organised events you'll need your own deck, army, or collection.

However, many casual events and learn-to-play sessions have community members or staff who can help new players get started. If you're unsure what you'll need, contact us before the event.

Do you sell trading card game singles?

Yes.

We stock singles for several trading card games including Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana, Flesh and Blood, and more.

Our inventory changes regularly as new cards arrive and existing stock sells.

Do you buy cards and collections?

We regularly purchase trading card collections and singles.

If you're looking to sell cards, bring them into the store and we'll discuss the available options with you.

Do you sell board games?

Yes.

We carry a large range of board games suitable for families, casual gamers, hobby enthusiasts, and experienced players.

Our staff are always happy to recommend games based on your interests and group size.

Do you sell Dungeons & Dragons and roleplaying games?

Yes.

We stock Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, dice, miniatures, rulebooks, accessories, and a variety of roleplaying resources.

Do you sell Warhammer and miniatures?

Yes.

We stock miniatures, paints, hobby supplies, terrain products, and accessories for miniature gaming and hobby painting.

Can I play games in the store?

Yes.

We have gaming space available for organised events and community play. Table availability may vary depending on scheduled events.

Can I order online?

Yes.

Our online store ships throughout New Zealand, allowing customers nationwide to access our range of products.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping times depend on your location and the courier service being used. Most orders are processed and dispatched as quickly as possible and will arrive with you within a week.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept a variety of payment methods both in-store and online. Payment options available online will be displayed during checkout.

Do you offer returns?

If a product is faulty or does not meet your rights under New Zealand consumer law, we will work with you to resolve the issue.
