Board? at Valkyrie: Fit to Print

A board game review by Becks Sharp

This game has been on my need to play list since it hit the shelves here at Valkyrie.
It's made by the people who created Tiny Towns, so I knew I would like it and it has a media element to it so it's right up our alley in interests.
Basically, you are a news editor and you have to get the paper out, you choose articles, photos and adds and lay them out to score points.

You have 3 rounds. Friday a smaller paper, Saturday a bigger layout and then Sunday another bigger layout. There are rules around placement and a mood rating. You want to have an even amount of happy and sad stories, if you don't balance that it could ruin the mood of the paper and lose you points.

We played it last Thursday game night and it was a lot of fun with 6 people! You have a time limit for each round and it becomes a mad dash for tiles by the third round. You get to choose tiles with one hand and once you think you have enough on your desk you go to layout and layout all your tiles. You can't have the same coloured tiles beside each other and photos get more points next to certain tiles. Once you're happy with it you call print and take the lowest number tile.

But be careful, if you don't have any ads you can't earn money and the person with the lowest money gets fired (when playing with more than 3 people).

Josh and I played it a few times and we started with 5 mins for rounds then we went to 4 minutes way to add pressure.

It's a lot of fun and the tiles are cute and well designed. It's one that will be added to our game rotation, that's for sure!
